Big About Music is the leading Northamptonshire community music organisation; a Community Interest Company delivering across the county from its base in Corby. Its main focus is the delivery of the Northamptonshire Youth Music Action Zone; a project funded by Youth Music, Kettering Borough Council, Corby Borough Council and the Arts Council of England.
The Youth Music Action Zone programme caters for 0 to 18 year olds and part of Big About Music’s mission is to promote the use of music making as an ideal vehicle for the delivery of youth work and community work.
All BAM projects have musical and non musical objectives, and most projects are delivered in partnership with non music based organisations. These include schools, nurseries, youth clubs, pupil referral units, playschemes, and local authorities
The Northamptonshire Youth Music Action Zone is one of 21 across England and Wales. Each Zone is unique as they are designed to respond to the particular needs of the community they operate in, but they all share the same common objectives.
Big About Music (BAM) is also grateful for project funding from Daventry District Council, South Northants District Council and is developing relationships with the other districts and boroughs of the county.
